CHICAGO – The Chicago State volleyball team opens the 2012 Great West Conference Volleyball Tournament on Friday (Nov. 16). The No. 5 seeded Cougars will play No. 4 seeded NJIT at 11 a.m. CT. A victory advances Chicago State to play No. 1 seeded Houston Baptist at 8 p.m. CT that same evening.
NJIT (11-15) took both matches over Chicago State (2-29) this year. NJIT topped Chicago State on Oct. 6 on the CSU campus 3-0. On Oct. 27, Chicago State fell 3-0 at NJIT.
The tournament champion will be crowned Saturday. The championship match is slated to begin at 7 pm (MT) and will be carried on UVUTV and be rebroadcast nationally on Fox College Sports.
