OREM, Utah – The Chicago State men's basketball team opened a two-game Great West Conference road swing tonight by dropping a 65-56 decision to host Utah Valley at the UCCU Center.
The Wolverines improved their season record to 12-10 (2-0) and the Cougars dropped to 2-18 (1-2).
Junior Jeremy Robinson (Decatur, Ill./Eisenhower) (Decatur, Ill.) paced the Green and White with a double-double of a game-high 18 points and 13 rebounds, while senior Ardarius Simmons (Chicago, IL/Southeastern (IA) CC) (Chicago, Ill.) tied with Robinson with 18 points. Freshman Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) (Skokie, Ill.) added 12 points for the Cougars.
Utah Valley had four players score in double figures, led by sophomore Holton Hunsaker's 18 points. Seniors Isiah Williams and Keith Thompson added 13 and 12 points, respectively, while senior Geddes Robinson posted a double-double of 16 rebounds and 10 points.
CSU closes out their weekend road swing this Saturday afternoon at North Dakota in a GWC contest with a start time of 2 p.m.
