CHICAGO – Junior Jeremy Robinson (Decatur, Ill./Eisenhower) (Decatur, Ill.) scored a game-high 21 points to lead four Chicago State players in double figures as the host Cougars (1-17, 0-1) fell to visiting Texas-Pan American (6-15, 1-0) by a score of 72-65 in the Great West Conference opener tonight at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center.
Robinson also recorded a game-high eight rebounds, posted a career-high four steals and two blocked shots while shooting 7-of-14 from the field.
Senior Ardarius Simmons (Chicago, IL/Southeastern (IA) CC) (Chicago, Ill.) added a pair of season highs with 16 points and five assists, while junior Matt Samuels (Washington, DC/South Suburban College) (Washington, D.C.) scored 16 points and graduate student Lee Fisher (Dolton, IL/Northern Illinois) (Dolton, Ill.) tallied 10 points.
Juniors Brandon Provost and Jesus Delgado led the Broncs in scoring with 14 points apiece, while senior Aaron Urbanus added 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Cougars close out their three-game homestand this Saturday night with a GWC contest against Houston Baptist with a start time of 2:05 p.m.
