CHICAGO – Chicago State men's basketball had four players score in double figures Saturday afternoon as it fell to Great West Conference foe North Dakota, 80-70, in its annual homecoming game at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center.
The Fighting Sioux improved to 12-11 (5-2) with the win and the Cougars' season record fell to 6-20 (3-6).
Leading the Green and White was senior Carl Montgomery (Chicago, IL/Shepard) (Chicago, Ill.), who recorded a game-high 21 points that included shooting 8-of-12 from the field and added seven rebounds on the day. Senior Antonio Lofton (Chicago, IL/Parkland College) (Chicago, Ill.) produced his first double-double of the season with 16 points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
Senior Christian Wall (New Orleans, LA/John Ehret) (New Orleans, La.) added 12 points and a game-leading five assists and senior Hajji Martin (Chicago, IL/Morgan Park) (Chicago, Ill.) tallied 11 points to round out the scoring for CSU.
Freshman Troy Huff recorded a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead North Dakota, while fellow freshman Aaron Anderson scored 16 points.
The Green and White conclude its home schedule on Thursday night with a non-conference contest against Olivet Nazarene with a start time of 7 p.m. CSU will also honor its senior class with a senior day ceremony before the game.
