CHICAGO – Chicago State volleyball concluded its four-match homestand Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 (16-25, 16-25, 25-17, 17-25) defeat to visiting Houston Baptist in a Great West Conference match at the Jacoby Dickens Center.
Senior Alexandra Mason (Beaverton, OR/Harper College) (Beaverton, Ore.) produced a match-high 10 kills and added three blocks to lead the Cougars, while freshman Emily Kramolisch (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook) (Bolingbrook, Ill.) contributed 30 assists and a match-best two service aces.
Sophomore Mysta Townsell (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) (Gardnerville, Nev.) recorded a match-high 19 digs and freshman Mia Townsell (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) (Gardnerville, Nev.) posted 11 digs for the Green and White.
Senior Isis Gardner led HBU with nine kills and five blocks, and junior Victoria Weatherly recorded a double-double of 44 assists and 10 digs. Senior Courtney Whittleman notched 17 digs to lead the Huskie defense.
CSU travels west this week for a pair of GWC contests beginning Thursday, Oct. 6 at Utah Valley with a start time of 8 p.m.
