GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Chicago State men's basketball concluded a weekend Great West Conference road swing through the Dakotas here Saturday afternoon with a 74-60 defeat to host North Dakota at the Betty Englestand Sioux Center. The Cougars saw their record drop to 7-20 (2-7) and the Fighting Sioux improved to 6-17 (3-3).
Junior Christian Wall (New Orleans, LA/John Ehret) (New Orleans, La.) recorded game highs of 17 points, six assists and four steals to lead CSU. Junior Carl Montgomery (Chicago, IL/Shepard) (Chicago, Ill.) added 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, while junior Jonathan Montgomery (Chicago, Ill.) posted 12 points by connecting of 4-of-8 from three-point range.
UND was led by sophomore Patrick Mitchell, who tied Wall for game high scoring honors with 17 points. Senior Travis Bledsoe posted 16 points with five assists and fellow classmate Travis Mertens contributed 10 points. Redshirt freshman Jordan Allard added nine points and a game-high six boards.
The Cougars are idle for a week before hosting UND in a Great West rematch at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center on Feb. 25 with the tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
