AMES, Iowa – Senior Carl Montgomery (Chicago, IL/Shepard) (Chicago, Ill) tallied a game-high 25 points to pace the Chicago State men's basketball team as it continued its four-game road swing Tuesday night at Iowa State, but the host Cyclones claimed a 104-63 win at Hilton Coliseum. ISU improved its record to 11-2 on the year, while the Cougars fell to 3-11.
Montgomery shot 11-of-21 from the field in addition to producing eight rebounds and tying a season high with two assists.
Senior Hajji Martin (Chicago, IL/Morgan Park) (Chicago, Ill.) added 13 points and grabbed a game-high nine boards, while fellow senior Antonio Lofton (Chicago, IL/Parkland College) (Chicago, Ill.) scored 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and was 3-of-3 from three-point range.
Senior Diante Garrett and freshman Melvin Ejim each recorded 18 points to lead Iowa State, while Garrett dished out nine assists, and Ejim added eight rebounds and four steals. Senior Jake Anderson posted 17 points and seven boards for the Cyclones.
CSU closes its trek through the state of Iowa on Thursday afternoon as it takes on host Drake in Des Moines with a start time of 2:05 p.m.
