YPSILANTI, Mich. - Chicago State men's basketball opened the year 2010 on a somber note as it concluded a six-game road swing Sunday afternoon with a 59-47 loss to host Eastern Michigan at the EMU Convocation Center. The Cougars dropped to 5-10 on the year while the Eagles improved their season record to 8-5.
Juniors Carl Montgomery (Chicago, IL/Shepard) (Chicago, Ill.) and Christian Wall (New Orleans, LA/John Ehret) (New Orleans, La.) each scored 10 points apiece to lead the Cougars on the day.
EMU was led by Brandon Bowdry's game high totals of 23 points and nine rebounds, and Antonio Green finshed with 11 points for the Eagles.
The Cougars are back in action Wednesday night with their first home game of the new year against Northern Illinois at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center with a start time of 7 p.m.
