Chicago State Football to Host Open Practice on Campus Aug. 8

CHICAGO, Ill. — Chicago State University Athletics is inviting Cougar fans, alumni, students and members of the community to get an exclusive first look at the inaugural football team during an Open Practice on Saturday, Aug. 8, on the Chicago State University campus at 7:00 p.m.

The free event will take place on the Chicago State Baseball Field, giving supporters a unique opportunity to watch Head Coach Bobby Rome II and the Cougars continue preparations for the program's historic first season.

"We're excited to welcome our fans and community to campus as we continue building something special," said Rome. "This is a chance for everyone to experience the energy, passion and commitment of our student-athletes as we prepare for the inaugural season. We look forward to sharing this moment with Cougar Nation."

Fans will have the opportunity to watch position drills, team periods and other segments of practice while getting an inside look at the culture and preparation behind Chicago State Football.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or portable seating to enjoy the practice.

The Cougars continue preparations for their historic season opener on Saturday, Aug. 29, when Chicago State hosts Roosevelt University at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois with kickoff set for 12:00 p.m.
