CHICAGO, Ill. - The NEC has announced their weekly track and field awards for the week of 1/20/26 and they have named Chicago State high jumper
Earnest Davenport the NEC Field Athlete of the Week after his high caliber performance at the YSU Collegiate Invitational
On Friday January 16, Davenport won the high jump at YSU Collegiate Invitational at Youngstown State University with a massive personal best of 2.11 meters (6'11). Davenport bested his previous personal best of 2.08m by three centimeters and continues to rise up the rankings nationally. He currently sits in a tie for 32nd in the NCAA and is second in the NEC with his current mark. With Davenport clearing 2.11 meters, he moves to second all-time at Chicago State in the high jump, just one centimeter behind the indoor school record of 2.12 meters.Â
This Davenports first NEC honor so far this season.
