Chicago, Ill. (August 1, 2025) — Chicago State University Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Desmond Dodd as the new assistant coach for the Men's and Women's Golf programs. Dodd brings a passion for instruction, player development, and community engagement to the Cougar golf programs.
Dodd is the founder and president of Midnight Green Club, a golf-centered organization committed to growing the game. He has worked extensively with junior golf programs across Chicago Public Schools, focusing on skill development, etiquette, and access. His experience includes leading group classes, organizing golf outings, and developing personalized instruction for players of all skill levels.
"We're excited to welcome Coach Dodd to our golf programs," said Director of Golf Jean Macon, head coach of Chicago State Men's and Women's Golf. "His dedication to teaching, his roots in the community, and his ability to connect with young athletes make him a great addition to our staff."
In his role with Midnight Green Club, Dodd has helped grow the game of golf in Chicago through innovative programming and hands-on instruction. His approach combines technical training with lessons in leadership, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
