Skowronska & King Represent Women's Tennis at the ITA Conference Masters Championships

SAN DIEGO, CA - Two members of the Chicago State women's tennis team traveled out west to represent Chicago State and the NEC to compete in the ITA Conference Masters Championships. Karolina Skowronska and Mackenzie King earned the honor after winning the NateRentals.com Binghamton Championship Doubles tournament early this fall where the winner were to represent the NEC's bid to compete for a shot at the NCAA Championships. The duo competed in the main draw of the doubles tournament in San Diego. 

Skowronska and King battled Presbyterian College duo McKenize Davis and Ladina Burhin. The Cougar duo battled closely throughout the match. Skowronska and King won six total games through the match but fell short by a score of 6-3, 6-3. 

The duo then headed to the Consolation bracket. They competed in this match against University of Colorado's Lera Alexin and Rixt Van Der Werff. The Cougars battled hard but fell to the Buffalo's duo by a score of 6-1, 6-1.

The Chicago State women's tennis will return to action in January with the beginning of team duels. Chicago State will return to the court to take on Western Michigan University on Friday January 16 at 12:30 p.m. (CT).
