The Chicago State men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Tennessee Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Cougars established one school record, four personal records and three season best performances over the two days.
The women's relay team of
Myshell Hurse,
Rikki Gray,
Shamauri Brackett and
Sanaa Parker established a school records in the 4x400 relay and a season best in the 4x100 relay with times of 3:50.98 and 46.83, respectively, topping the previous best time of 3:52.30 in the 4x400 set in 2017.
The men's 4x400m relay team of
Willie Merrick,
Maxwell Mitchell,
Malachi Spells and
Jovanni Avila also set a new season best time of 3:27.57.
Shamauri Brackett established a new personal record in the 100m with a time of 12.55,
Sanaa Parker posted a PR in the 200m with a time of 24.82 and
Jasmine Cruz had a PR in the shot put with a toss of 5.32m.
One the men's side,
Mychah Spells earned a sixth-place finish in the 110m hurdles with a PR of 14.61 and
Malachi Spells ran a PR in the 400m with a time of 52.63.
