Cougars Men’s Tennis Compete at 2023 River Forest Collegiate Invitational

The Chicago State men's tennis team began their 2023 fall season competing in a weather-shortened 2023 River Forest Collegiate Invitational host by Northern Illinois at the River Forest Tennis Club in River Forest, Illinois. Junior Pedro Alvarez advanced to the championship match of the No. 1 finals draw but all singles matches were cancelled due to steady rainfall. Alvarez also teamed with Max Sandoval to advance to the championship match of the No. 1 Doubles draw but lost 6-2.

"Really proud of the fight the guys showed this weekend," head coach Jack Barton said. "They competed really hard and used the game plans we worked on in practice. We just have to be a little more focused but we will cover that in practice."

Compete results listed below.

The Cougars will be back on the court Sept. 22-24 competing in the Bellarmine Invitational at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex in Louisville, Kentucky.
