The Chicago State men's golf team is currently tied for 11
th out of 12 teams after the first two rounds of the Valpo Fall Invitational at the Sand Creek Country Club (6,997 yards, part 72) in Chesterton, Indiana.
Joshua Stig was the low finisher for CSU, carding an 80 in the first round and 74 in the second, for a two-round total 154, which is tied for 29
th. Wright State is the first day leader at 568, four strokes better than tournament host Valparaiso (572).
For the Cougars, following Stig, Kieran Hogarth shot 76-82 for a 158, followed by Camron Jones (76-87-163),
Kevin Bullington (85-83-168) and Jarred Hernandez (92-80-172).

About Chicago State
Chicago State University Athletics is comprised of 15 intercollegiate teams involving over 150 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and volleyball. CSU held memberships in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and NCAA Division II before transitioning to NCAA Division I in 1994. Melvin Bland was the first CSU student-athlete to gain NAIA All-American status in 1974 as a wrestler. Fred Evans became the first black swimmer ever to win a national championship in 1975. The Men's Outdoor Track & Field 4x100-Meter Relay team were 2019 Honorable Mention All-Americans and WAC Champions. Their feat marked the first time the Chicago State's men's track & field program was represented at the national meet.
