HOMEWOOD, Ill. – The Chicago State women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 match to Bradley on Sunday at Homewood-Flossmor Racquet and Fitness. Katarina Druzic extended her winning streak to six straight matches with a win at No. 3 singles while
Diana Borodina (Moscow, Russia) saw her seven-match winning streak come to an end at the hands of Bradley's undefeated top player Sandra Maletin.
Susana Andres (Madrid, Spain) picked up a win at No. 6 singles due to a retirement by Bradley's Nina Marjanovic.
Bradley earned the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 but the Cougars tandem of Lizi Mogoshia and
Kristina Pukhaeva (Vladikavkaz, Georgia/No. 98 Public School) did take the victory at No. 3 doubles with a tough 7-6 (8-6) tiebreak victory.
Borodina, who's had the hot racquet for the Cougars over the last month, battled through the contest with Bradley's Maletin, who entered the match undefeated. Maletin took the first set 6-4 and Borodina battled back but couldn't quite find a way to for the third set with a 7-5 loss in the second and decisive set.
Katarina Drazic (Sarasota, Fla./Elevation Preparatory Academy) extended her win streak to six straight with a decisive 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles. Dazic picked up two wins on the weekend and is 8-5 overall on the season.
