MILWAUKEE – The Chicago State women's tennis dropped a 6-1 road match to Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon. The Cougars earned a victory at No. 2 singles as
Diana Borodina (Moscow, Russia) earned a straight sets win over Nikki Milner.
Borodina was a bright spot for the Cougars picking up a win at No. 2 singles. The Moscow, Russia native dominated the first set with a 6-0 victory and clinched with a 6-4 win in the second set. It as Borodina's first victory at No. 2 singles this season
The Cougars dropped the doubles point as Borodina and
Kristina Pukhaeva (Vladikavkaz, Georgia/No. 98 Public School) dropped a 7-5 match at Not 1 doubles, while
Katarina Dukic (Belgrade, Serbia ) and
Susana Andres (Madrid, Spain) fell at No. 2 doubles, 6-4 which clinched the point for the Panthers.
In singles the team tried to rally and
Lizi Morgoshia (Tblisi, Georgia/No. 35 Public School) took Milwaukee's Anna Daniel Fuentes to the wire forcing a tiebreak in the first set.
Katarina Dukic's (Belgrade, Serbia ) match at No. 5 singles also was a close one. After dropping the first set, Dukic rallied to take the second set 6-3 but Milwaukee's Anika Tylek earned the victory with a 6-3 win in the third set.
