Ricordo McKenzie (R) won the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the Benedictine Relays, while Donnie Hawkins set a new PR in the long jump to win first place
LISLE, Ill. – Chicago State track and field had big performances from sophomore Ricordo McKenzie (Montego Bay, Jamaica/Cornwall College) and redshirt junior Donnie Hawkins (Chicago, Ill./Willowbrook) as it completed a rain-filled Benedictine Relays today at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.

McKenzie earned a pair of event titles for the Green and White as he ran for a time of 10.62 to win the men's 100-meter dash and later captured the 200-meter dash crown after crossing the finish line at a time of 21.54.

Hawkins recorded a personal-best mark of 23-0.50 (7.02 meters) to win the long jump for his first event title of the outdoor season.

On the women's side, senior Asia Johnson (Guthrie, Okla./Guthrie) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles as she crossed the finish line with a time of 14.84.

Benedictine announced this evening that the meet's second day of events scheduled for tomorrow is being cancelled due to inclement weather coming to the Chicagoland area this weekend.

CSU returns to action April 21 with the DePaul Invitational at Lane Stadium on Chicago's north side for its last non-championship meet of the season.
