Cougars Finish Eighth at B-CU Gary Freeman Spring Invite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Chicago State men's golf concluded its first full week of the 2018 spring season here today at the LPGA International Golf Course with an eighth-place finish at the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational, hosted by Bethune-Cookman.
 
CSU finished the 54-hole, two-day tournament by carding a score of 1,011 (334-337-340) as the host school produced a score of 893 (308-292-293) to edge out second-place Fort Wayne by four strokes for the team title.
 
Junior Adrian Torres (Madrid, Spain/I.E.S. Gustavo Adolfo Becquer) led the Cougars individually by finishing in a tie for 38th place thanks to a score of 250 (85-84-81), while fellow junior Eduardo Falcon (Sabinas, Mexico/St. Anthony) tied for 40th by carding a 254 (80-88-86).  
 
Senior Cameron Boomer (Glasgow, Scotland/Calderglen) recorded a 255 (82-81-92) to finish 42nd and junior Austin Dobrescu (Brandon, Canada/Vincent Massey) placed 47th after posting a score of 261 (90-84-87). Junior Ram Roque (Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines/Bukidnon Faith Christian School) also competed in the tournament for the Cougars
 
The Green and White return to action on March 12-13 with the Don Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla.
