Men’s Golf Captures Fourth Place at Don Benbow Invitational

Cameron Boomer finished 12th for CSU at the Don Benbow Invitational
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Chicago State men's golf team began a week-long, two-tournament stretch here today as it captured fourth place at the Don Benbow Invitational, hosted by Butler and held at the Blue Sky Golf Club.
 
The Green and White carded a 36-hole score of 621 (308-313), while IUPUI recorded a score of 594 to edge out the host Bulldogs by six strokes to win the team title. Medalist honors went to Albany State's Tyler Hanson as he produced a score of 141 (71-70).
 
Leading CSU individually was senior Cameron Boomer (Glasgow, Scotland/Calderglen) as he tallied a score of 154 (75-79) to finish in 12th place followed by junior Austin Dobrescu (Brandon, Canada/Vincent Massey) as he placed in a tie for 13th thanks to a score of 155 (77-78).
 
Junior Eduardo Falcon (Sabinas, Mexico/St. Anthony) tied for 17th after carding a 756 (78-78), while juniors Adrian Torres (Madrid, Spain/I.E.S. Gustavo Adolfo Becquer) and Ram Roque (Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines/Bukidnon Faith Christian School) finished in a tie for 23rd place with each player scoring a 161.
 
Next up for the Cougars is the Butler Spring Invitational that will be held tomorrow and Thursday in Jacksonville.
