A Pair of School Records Fall for CSU Track and Field at Meyo Classic

Sophomore Ricordo McKenzie broke his school record in the 60-meter dash after placing third in the Meyo invitational with a time of 6.87, while senior Jocindra Glee reset her school record in the 400-meter dash at a time of 56.26.
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Chicago State track and field set a pair of school records here today to close out the Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center on the campus of Notre Dame.
 
For the second consecutive day, men's track and field sophomore Ricordo McKenzie (Montego Bay, Jamaica/Cornwall College) fared well as he reset his own school record in the 60-meter dash.
 
After running for a time of 6.97 in the semifinals to grab a spot in the finals, McKenzie took third place when he crossed the finish line with a time of 6.87 to shave a tenth of a second off his previous mark of 6.88 which had been set last December.
 
Senior Jocindra Glee (Orlando, Fla./Evans) broke her own school record in the women's 400-meter dash as she posted a time of 56.26 earlier in the semifinals. She eclipsed the previous record by 22-tenths of a second which posted last year.
 
"I cannot speak enough of the excellent way that our three student-athletes performed at the Meyo invitational this weekend," CSU head coach Craig Collins stated following the meet. "The quality of competition and the results from Ricordo, Jocindra and Asia (Johnson) speaks on the hard work from these individuals have put forth but also the direction that out program is going. The Meyo Invite is a premier event and our team rose to the occasion. I could not be more proud."
 
CSU returns to action with the 2018 SPIRE Division I Classic on Feb. 9-10 in Geneva, Ohio.
