Men’s Golf Concludes Fall Campaign at Titan Motown Collegiate

HIGHLAND, Mich. – The Chicago State men's golf team concluded its fall campaign with a ninth-place finish today to finish off the two-day Titan Motown Collegiate, hosted by Detroit Mercy at the Prestwick Village Golf Club.
 
CSU placed ninth in the team standings when it carded a 54-hole, three-round score of 961 (320-321-320) and finished three strokes ahead of Robert Morris (Pa.). Winning the team title was Grand Valley State after scoring an 879 (288-294-297) and Andrew Hammett of Ferris State shot a six-under-par 210 (72-66-72) to capture medalist honors.
 
The Green and White were led individually by senior Austin Dobrescu (Brandon, Canada/Vincent Massey) as he recorded a score of 224 (74-77-73) to finish in 12th place.
 
Junior Jorge Garzon (Bogata, Colombia/Gimnasio los Caobos) placed in a tie for 43rd after shooting a 241 (80-83-78), while senior Eduardo Falcon (Sabinas, Mexico/St. Anthony) recorded a score of 248 (82-78-83) to finish tied for 48th place.
 
Seniors Adrian Torres (Madrid, Spain/I.E.S. Gustavo Adolfo Becquer) and Ram Roque (Valencia City, Bukidnon, Philippines/Bukidnon Faith Christian School) also competed in the tournament for CSU.
 
The Cougars will return to action with their spring season in January 2019.
