CSU Men’s Golf Opens 2017-18 Season at Murray State Invitational

MURRAY, Ky. – The Chicago State men's golf team opened its 2017-18 season with the two-day Murray State Invitational here at the Miller Memorial Golf Course.
 
CSU finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of 940 (316-309-315) to finish in 13th place, while the host Racers carded a two-under-par 850 (279-286-285) to win the team title. Medalist honors went to UT Martin's Hunter Richardson who finished with a 203 (68-64-71).
 
Junior Austin Dobrescu (Brandon, Canada/Vincent Massey) led the Green and White with a score of 229 (77-73-79) to place in a tie for 64th place.
 
Senior Cameron Boomer (Glasgow, Scotland/Calderglen) shot a three-round score of 230 (75-77-78) and tied for 70th place, while junior Adrian Torres (Madrid, Spain/I.E.S. Gustavo Adolfo Becquer) finished in a tie for 78th place in his first tournament as a Cougar after producing a score of 235 (81-76-78).
 
Also competing in his first tournament for CSU was junior Eduardo Falcon.
 
The Cougars return to action on Sept. 29-30 with the HBCU Hall of Fame Invitational in Atlanta.
