CHICAGO – The Chicago State University women's cross country and track & field teams have announced the recent signing of Aleah Wilson, London Nelson, Toniann Ewen and Ariana Owens for the upcoming 2017-18 school year.
"The immediate future for our women's track & field program look very bright as a result of the signing of these four young ladies. I am pleased to have such a broad range of talent joining our track & field and cross country programs for the 2017-18 season. With such a young and diverse group coming, it will only add to the momentum created over this past season," said CSU head track and field coach Craig Collins.

Finished 28th at the SCHSL Class 5A Region 5 meet as a senior… posted a season-best cross country time of 22:03.5 at the Wendy's Invitational… recorded personal best track times in the 200 (25.97), 400 (59.74) and 800-meter (2:33.10) events during senior season… helped Blythewood's 4x400-meter relay team finish first at the Chick-fil-A Games… placed fifth in the 200m and 400m at the SCHSL Class 5A Region 5 meet.

Helped Largo post season-best times at the MPSSAA Class 2A state championship meet in the 4x400 (4:15.11) and 4x800-meter (10:42.88) relays… recorded a personal-best 400m time of 1:02.19 at the Central Invitational… took second in the 800m with an indoor PR time of Prince George's Varsity Invite with a time of 2:37.11.

Recorded a pair of personal-best times of 25.34 in the 200m and 58.71 in the 400m at the FHSAA Class 4A District 3 Championship meet while finishing fourth in the 400… ran for a time of 58.42 in the 400m at the Kowboy Invitational to set a season-best time… notched a personal record time in the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line at 227.70 at the Lake Brantley Invitational… attended same high school as fellow signee Ariana Owens and current CSU senior Jocindra Glee (Orlando, Fla./Evans), the school's outdoor record holder in the 400-meter hurdles.

Won the 100-meter dash at the Jeff Wentworth Relays after finishing with a personal-best time of 12.53… posted a PR mark of 37-8.25 in the triple jump while placing second in the event at the Kowboy Invitational… helped Evans finish second at the FHSAA Class 4A state finals in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.60… also guided EHS to a time of 47.29 to finish first at the FHSAA Class 4A Region 1 Championship meet… attended same high school as fellow signee Toniann Ewen and current CSU senior Jocindra Glee (Orlando, Fla./Evans), the school's outdoor record holder in the 400-meter hurdles.
The four newcomers will join six returning letterwinners, including four seniors, for the 2017-18 season beginning in August.
