TYRONE, Pa. - The Chicago State University women's cross country team traveled to Saint Francis to compete in the 2025 NEC Cross Country Championships. The Cougars were led by graduate student
Weronika Stanczak who finished 16th overall for the Cougars to be the highest Chicago State finisher.
The graduate student from Poland, continued to lead the way for the Cougars. Stanzcak ran a 23:59.00 6K time to a 16th place top finisher for the Cougars. She finishers her cross country career with her best finish on the NEC Championships. Freshman
Alexis Fallejo finished her season being the second finisher for the Cougars with a 29:53.50 to finish 70th overall. Senior
Katherine Thornton finished 73rd with a 30:29.90. While
Daisy Ruto and
Joyline Jebiwott rounded out the Cougars finishes. Ruto ran a 34:30.50 and Jebiwott ran 36:13.10.
The Chicago State women's cross country team finishes with a 10th place finish at the conference championships and will now shift their attention to 2026.
