EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — Chicago State men's and women's cross country put together strong team performances at the Cougars Cross Country Challenge this weekend in Edwardsville.
On the men's side, Collins Kuyo led the Cougars as the team's top finisher, placing inside the top 10. Denis Kirui followed with a 12th-place finish, while Dennis Kipkemboi finished 17th as Chicago State continued to show strong depth throughout the field.
For the women, freshman Ashari Hobbs led the Cougars with a top-25 finish. Hobbs continued her strong start to the season, making an impact for Chicago State in her freshman campaign.
Sophomore Joy followed Hobbs and recorded a personal-best time, adding another strong performance for the Cougars.
Both Chicago State squads continue to build momentum as the season progresses, with the Cougars looking to carry their strong performances into their upcoming meets.
