Pangestu Captures Three-Set Singles Win for CSU on Senior Day

Hanna Pangestu produced a three-set win over Eastern Illinois at No. 6 singles today in her final collegiate home match

HOMEWOOD, Ill. – Senior Hanna Pangestu (Jakarta, Indonesia) made the most of her final collegiate home match for the Chicago State women's tennis team here today against visiting Eastern Illinois as she earned a three-set singles win in the Cougars' 6-1 defeat to the Panthers at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Panthers would take five of the six singles contests and two out of three doubles matches to win the match.

Pangestu defeated Kamile Stadnalninkaite in the No. 6 singles flight via scores of 6-3, 3-6 and 6-3 to even her dual match record to 5-5.

In the No. 3 doubles match, junior Mariya Kostyuk (Kyiv, Ukraine/International School) and freshman Judit Aubets (Major, Sanauja, Spain/Lluis Peguera) recorded a 6-2 victory over Maria Moshteva and Stadnalninkaite which improved their record on the year to 3-1 and 2-1 this spring.

CSU travels to the state of Michigan next week for a pair of road matches beginning Friday, March 10 at Oakland with a start time of 6 p.m.
