Women’s Tennis Travels to Kansas City for 2015 WAC Tournament

CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's tennis team travels to Kansas City this weekend (April 24-26) to compete in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at UMKC's Plaza Tennis Center.

The fifth-seeded Cougars (3-18) will battle fourth-seeded Seattle (5-18) in a first round match on Friday morning beginning at 9 a.m. The winner will take on top-seeded New Mexico State (11-10) in a semifinal contest on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.

Freshman Matea Roki (Etobicoke, Ontario/Silverthorn Collegiate Institute) leads CSU in victories for singles (eight) and doubles (10) while posted a 2-3 conference record in singles and doubles this spring. Sophomore Faith Huckabee (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) has tallied seven singles wins in dual matches. Roki has amassed an 8-9 record this season with sophomore Hannah Pangestu.

The winner of the WAC Tournament this weekend receives the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Championships that begins in May.
