Austin Egbers Signs An NLI With Chicago State Men's Golf

CHICAGO – Austin Egbers (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic/Parkland College) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Chicago State University men's golf team in the fall of 2014, CSU head coach Marty Schiene has announced.
 
Egbers attended Parkland College (2012-2014) where he received second team all-conference honors by placing seventh as a freshman in the Mid-West Athletic Conference tournament. Egbers had a 75.6 average and low round of 71 in the fall season of his sophomore year (2013) and won the final tournament of the semester. He helped Parkland win the M-WAC Championship (2014), NJCAA Region 24 Championship (2014), Rend Lake Invite (2012), Danville Invite (2013) and the Indiana Tech Invite (2013). He attended Bloomington Central Catholic High School in Bloomington, Illinois where he was a three time team MVP, two time state qualifier and won a conference championship his senior year with the help of a career low 68. He was a member of the National Honor Society at Bloomington Central Catholic
 
"I am very happy to welcome Austin to the program," Schiene said. "He brings a great golf game that was demonstrated at Parkland College with a tournament win and some very solid play. Austin will be a great addition to the program and allow us to improve on last year's performance."
 
Egbers was a teammate with current Cougars David Keenan (Caitlin, Ill./Caitlin) and Dan Patkunas (Bloomington, Ill./Normal Community) in 2012-13 at Parkland College.
