Carynne Lloyd (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) lost 6-4, 6-0 to Erin Gebes. Vanessa Foltinger was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over freshman
Hanna Pangestu (Jakarta, Indonesia/). Freshman
Faith Huckabee (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) was defeated by Aina Hernandez 6-0, 6-3. Sophomores
Gema Bolado Yusta (Madrid, Spain./IES Lázaro Cárdenas) and
Sabrine Navarro (Melbourne, Australia/) were taken down 6-0, 6-0 in their matches.
In doubles play, Roco Diaz and Gebes won 8-3 over Pangestu and senior
Karyn Emeralda (Jakarta, Indonesia/). Pimienta and Aina Hernandez clinched the doubles point for the Golden Eagles with a 8-4 victory over Huckabee and Lloyd. The doubles match at the No. 1 flight went unfinished.
The Cougars fell to 6-16 on the season while Marquette improved their record to 12-8. The road portion of the CSU schedule finishes on Sunday (April 13) at Western Illinois. The match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
