Southfield, Mich. – Despite a singles victory from freshman

Carynne Lloyd (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) was beaten by Julia Fernandes 6-1, 6-2. In her first action of the season, sophomore
Marnie Perez-Ochoa (Louisville, Ky./Male) succumbed to Valery Kulikovskaya 6-2, 6-0. Freshman
Hanna Pangestu (Jakarta, Indonesia/) went down 6-2, 6-1 to Irina Slizovskaya.

In doubles play, Lloyd and Huckabee lost 7-6 (7-3) to Fernandes and Sujashvili. Detroit's Raina Halabi and Valery Kulikovskaya won 6-4 over Pangestu and Utech. CSU sophomore

Karyn Emeralda (Jakarta, Indonesia/) brought home a 7-1 loss to Slizovskaya and Strakhova.

The Cougars fell to 0-1 in the spring season while Detroit improved 1-2. Chicago State gets back on the court on Saturday (Jan. 25) at Western Michigan. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM ET.
