Faith Huckabee (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) picked up her second consecutive singles victory, but the Western Michigan Broncos defeated the Chicago State Women's Tennis team 6-1 at West Hills Athletic Club on Saturday evening (Jan. 25).

Huckabee beat Tracy Kuhle 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (12-10). It gives her six singles victories since the beginning of the fall season. Freshman
Kirsa Utech (Nindorf, Germany/Meldorfer Gelehrtenschule) went down at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2 to Nini Sujashvili. Kelsey King won 6-2, 6-0 over sophomore
Carynne Lloyd (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) while Yuriko Ono beat sophomore
Sabrine Navarro (Melbourne, Australia/) by the same score. Sophomore
Gema Bolado Yusta (Madrid, Spain./IES Lázaro Cárdenas) suffered a 6-0, 6-2 loss to Ashby Meika. Caroline Aleck was up 6-1, 3-0 before sophomore
Marnie Perez-Ochoa (Louisville, Ky./Male) retired because of an injury.Â
