Chicago State men's basketball (3-9) travels to Houston, Texas for a pair of contests. First up is Rice (2-7) on Wednesday (Dec. 19) at 7:00 p.m. CT. The Cougars will face Houston on Saturday (Dec. 22).
SERIES HISTORY -
Wednesday will be the first ever meeting between Chicago State and Rice.
DESTINATION: WAC 2013-14 -
Chicago State has accepted an invitation to join the Western Athletic Conference. The Cougars will join the WAC for the 2013-14 season.
LOOKS FAMILIAR -
Prior to last week, both Chicago State basketball teams had never played at Rice. Now in a week span, the women (Dec. 13) and the men will play games at the Turdor Fieldhouse on Rice's campus. The women lost last Thursday's contest 68-42.
SPARK FROM CLARKE -
Sophomore
Clarke Rosenberg (Skokie, Ill./Evanston Township) averaged just over 10 minutes per game in Chicago State's first four contests. In the fifth he was inserted into the starting lineup and he hasn't looked back. Since then he is averaging 11.3 points per game. He dished a career-high five assists against DePaul and scored 19 points at SIUE.

Matt Ross (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) ranks second in the Great West Conference in rebounds per game (7.0).
TIME TO REBOUND -
The Cougars' 48 rebounds at SIUE were the most by Chicago State in a single game since grabbing 49 at DePaul on Dec. 2010, 2012.

Chicago State's 9.6 steals per game lead the Great West Conference.

Chicago State forced 30 UW-Green Bay turnovers in the season opener, the most during the
Tracy Dildy era at Chicago State. The Cougars then forced 25 turnovers against Concordia Chicago on Tuesday.

Chicago State's 24 assists Concordia Chicago (Nov. 13) marked the most during the
Tracy Dildy era. It also stands as the most by a Great West Conference team this year.

Mashawn Chamberlain (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle)'s cousin is New Orleans Hornets forward Anthony Davis. The No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft Davis was in the stands to see Chamberlain when the Cougars played at Tulane on Nov. 18.
