Women’s Cross Country Competes at Forester Invitational

Sophomore Jennifer Sanford paced CSU at the Forester Invitational 5K race with a time of 25:09

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's cross country team closed out its first month of the season on Sept. 24 by competing in the 13th-annual Forester Invitational, hosted by Lake Forest College at Adler Park in Libertyville, Ill.

The Cougars placed 14th as a team in the meet, while Northwestern captured the team title with a score of 22 points. 

Sophomore Jennifer Sanford (Hammond, IN/Morton) (Hammond, Ind.) paced the Green and White in the five-kilometer race by posting a time of 25:09 for a 96th-place finish, while freshman Jackie Jones (Detroit, Mich.) crossed the finish line at 26:31

Also competing in the meet for CSU was senior Jasmine Walker (Capitol Heights, MD/Essex CC) (Capitol Heights, Md.), sophomore Ashley Alamgir (Chicago, Ill./Mather) (Chicago, Ill.), junior Sharifah Robertson (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), and freshmen Chanel Wilson-Stewart (Hillside, Ill.) and Jasmine Collins (Richton Park, Ill.). 

CSU returns to action this Saturday (Oct. 1) with the annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola, at Montrose Beach on the city's north side.
