CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's tennis team concluded its 2011 slate on April 30 with a pair of matches at the CSU Tennis Courts for the second-annual Great West Conference Championship.

The Cougars (9-16), seeded fifth in the tournament, fell to fourth-seeded and eventual champion NJIT in the first round by a 4-0 margin before finishing the day with a 4-2 defeat to sixth-seeded South Dakota in the fifth-place match.

Against NJIT, juniors Juan Rosalia and Juan Rosalina Tejoprayitno (Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia/Taruna Nusa Harapan) (Mokerto, East Java, Indonesia) posted an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles over Nina Mayevska and Jana Luste.

The Tejoprayitno twins struck again versus South Dakota in No. 1 doubles by defeating Alena Sergeychik and Marina Kiefer via an 8-2 margin, while senior Dian Mayasari (Tulang Agung, Indonesia/St. Thomas Aquino) (Tulang Agung, Indonesia) and freshman Mysta Townsell (Gardnerville, Nev.) battled USD's Veronika Makashov and Shadi Soleymani tough at No. 2 doubles before dropping a close 9-8 decision.

Juan Rosalina later captured a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ysabel Nunez at No. 3 singles for the Green and White's lone point in the match.

Following the tournament, Mayasari was selected First Team All-GWC after recording a 14-6 record at No. 1 singles and produced a combined 20 wins in doubles play. It marked the second consecutive year that CSU had a player make first team all-conference.
