CHICAGO – Chicago State University track & field athlete Kelvin White (St. Petersburg, FL/Lakewood) recently qualified to compete in the annual USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships on June 23-26 at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore.
White, a native of St. Petersburg, Fla., produced a qualifying time of 14.52 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Eastern Illinois “Big Blue” Classic on April 1 in Charleston, Ill., to set a school record in the event.
He is the first CSU athlete to qualify for the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships since current Cougar Daniel Fleming (South Holland, IL/Thornwood) competed in 2009 in the decathlon.
