CHICAGO, Ill. — Chicago State lost to DePaul 3-0 on Sunday. CSU faced 33 shots and recorded seven saves while being held to seven shots, including two on goal.

Jabulile Mooketsi saved Keagan Pace's attempt at 5:10 after DePaul had sent two early shots wide, and the Cougars came back with shots from Jaden Jaime, Kaeden Talebi and Bill Okumu between 8:04 and 8:11. DePaul broke through at 16:26 when Noeh Hernandez scored off Quinn Bedwell's assist for a 1-0 lead, before Talebi and Maxx Peters put shots toward goal for Chicago State in the 23rd minute. DePaul kept pressure on from 23:38 through 34:56 with multiple shots and corner kicks, but Mooketsi made saves on Hernandez and Jayden Waski and CSU also recorded a team save. Luca Iaccino scored twice late in the half, first at 37:17 off assists from Hernandez and Waski and again at 39:09 from Jordan Clagette, as DePaul took a 3-0 lead into halftime.

The second half opened with a physical stretch, as the Cougars and DePaul combined for six fouls in the first 13 minutes after halftime while the score remained 3-0. DePaul generated sustained pressure from the 64th through the 77th minute, taking seven shots and earning five corner kicks, with Mooketsi saving Mason Kutch's attempt at 72:59 to keep the half scoreless. CSU created its late push with a corner kick at 88:27 and two Jorge Leon shots on goal, but Hayden Vostal saved both attempts. Mooketsi added another save on Sam Tinoco's shot at 90:00, and the match ended with DePaul ahead 3-0.

Mooketsi recorded seven saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal. Leon put both of his shot attempts on frame, giving the Cougars their two shots on goal. Talebi added two shots.

Up next, CSU travels to Louisville, Ky., to face Bellarmine University on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
