SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Chicago State University (0-4-0) was defeated by Missouri State University (3-0-0) with a final score of 5-0 on Sunday evening at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium. CSU managed four shots, with one on goal, while its goalkeeper recorded 10 saves in the match.

The first period began with Missouri St. applying offensive pressure against CSU, culminating in a goal by Dani Gonzalez in the 21st minute, with an assist from Adrián Esteban. Despite several attempts from Missouri St., Jabulile Mooketsi made critical saves for the Cougars, including stops on shots from Fionn Mooney and Marco Rosati. Missouri St. extended its lead to 2-0 with a penalty kick goal by Alex Rodriguez in the 34th minute. CSU struggled to find the net, with their best chance from Jaden Jaime being saved by Missouri St. goalkeeper Fernando Alves Schmelz.

Missouri St. expanded its lead early in the second period with Daniel Souza scoring in the 55th minute, assisted by Diego Real and Victor Wachowicz. The home team continued its offensive push as Fionn Mooney converted a penalty kick in the 63rd minute, bringing the score to 4-0. Nicolae Velicico added another goal for Missouri St. in the 79th minute. Despite efforts from Chicago State, including a shot by Jayden Abiodun, the visitors were unable to score. Mooketsi made several crucial saves, including a stop on a shot by Joao Boavida in the 90th minute, but the match concluded with Missouri St. securing a 5-0 victory.

Mooketsi recorded ten saves during the match, showcasing a strong defensive effort in goal. Abiodun registered one shot in the game, contributing to the team's offensive attempts. Jaime managed to put one shot on goal, testing the opposing goalkeeper. Erick Ramirez added to the offensive pressure with a shot, although it did not find the target.
