Kamila Aguilar showcased her skills with eight saves against 28 shots.
The first period began with CSU facing an aggressive offensive push from UT Martin. Aguilar made key saves, notably stopping a well-placed shot from Maggie Stephens in the 17th minute.
Ameerah Kolleff generated a scoring opportunity for the Cougars with a shot at the 29th minute, but it was saved by Mac Titus. The period concluded scoreless, with neither team able to convert their chances into a lead.
Chicago State faced a challenging second period as UT Martin scored early with Alex Weihs finding the net at the 47:31 mark, assisted by Peyton Cook. Despite consistent defensive efforts, including multiple saves by Aguilar, CSU showed determination throughout the game.
