Chicago State Announces 2026 Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Schedule

CHICAGO, Ill.  – Under the direction of Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Katrina Brumfield Marsom, Chicago State University has announced its 2026 men's and women's cross country schedule, featuring seven meets across four states, highlighted by the NEC Championships and the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships.

The Cougars will open the season on Aug. 28 at the Tennessee Cross Country Invitational, hosted by the University of Tennessee, before traveling to Northern Illinois for the Huskie Classic on Sept. 4.

Chicago State continues its September slate at the Phoenix Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, on Sept. 12, followed by the Cougars Cross Country Challenge, hosted by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, on Sept. 18.

The regular season continues on Sept. 25 with the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago, before the Cougars compete at one of the Midwest's premier events, the Bradley Pink Classic, hosted by Bradley University, on Oct. 16.

The postseason begins on Oct. 31 when Chicago State travels to Brookville, New York, for the NEC Championships, hosted by LIU. Qualifying student-athletes will then compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Nov. 13, hosted by Iowa State University.

The 2026 schedule provides the Cougars with a competitive mix of regional competition and championship-caliber meets as Chicago State prepares for another season of NEC competition under Brumfield Marsom's leadership.
