Keona McGee Selected to Women's Basketball Second Team All-Conference

CHICAGO, Ill. - The NEC has released their postseason all conference teams for the 2025-26 season. Chicago State's Keona McGee was selected by the head coaches in the conference to the NEC Second Team All-Conference team. The Sophomore from Milwaukee, Wisconsin was Chicago State's leading scorer throughout a majority of the season and the led to Cougars to an 8-10 conference record and to the six seed in the NEC Women's Basketball Tournament. 

Keona McGee had an amazing sophomore season as she stepped into the role as the leader for the Cougars this season. McGee has averaged 15.2 points per game in NEC play and has averaged 12.06 throughout the entire season. She scored in double figures in 16 straight conference games which is a streak sill ongoing. McGee also has started and played in all 31 games this season. Her 65 assists are a team high, second on the team in steals with 43. McGee has had two double doubles on the season, which also leads the team.

"Keona worked very hard in the offseason and the preseason to improve her game. I believe she stepped up a lot this season, so obviously the all-conference is something she earned and I look forward to her continued growth moving forward in our postseason."

McGee leads the rest of the Chicago State women's basketball team start their postseason play tonight as the six seed in the NEC Women's Basketball Tournament and take on the three seed LIU Sharks. Tip off from Steinberg Wellness Center is set for 6:00 PM (CT).
