Chicago State Head Women's Basketball Coach Corry Irvin Selected as AT&T WNBA All-Star 2026 Host Committee Ambassador

CHICAGO, Ill. – Chicago State University Athletics is proud to announce that Head Women's Basketball Coach Corry Irvin has been selected as a Host Committee Ambassador for the AT&T WNBA All-Star 2026, which will take place in Chicago from July 24-25, 2026. Irvin joins an accomplished group of collegiate coaches, business leaders, community advocates and sports executives working together to showcase Chicago as the center of women's basketball during one of the sport's premier events.

Irvin is one of 14 distinguished Host Committee Ambassadors selected to support the citywide celebration surrounding WNBA All-Star Weekend. The ambassadors will work alongside the Chicago All-Star 2026 Host Committee to promote the event, engage with the community and help advance opportunities for girls and women through the game of basketball.

"We are incredibly proud of Coach Irvin and this well-deserved recognition," said Dr. Monique Carroll, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "Corry has dedicated her career to developing student-athletes, growing the game of basketball and serving the Chicago community. Being selected as a Host Committee Ambassador is a testament to the respect she has earned throughout the sport and is another example of Chicago State's continued commitment to excellence."

Irvin, who was named Chicago State's head women's basketball coach in April 2024, brought more than two decades of coaching experience to the Cougars. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation as one of the nation's premier teachers, recruiters and mentors, with coaching stops that include Mississippi State University, Saint Xavier University and Whitney M. Young Magnet High School.

"I'm honored to be selected as a Host Committee Ambassador for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend," said Irvin. "Chicago has always been one of the great basketball cities in the world, and it's exciting to help showcase our city while celebrating the tremendous growth and impact of women's basketball. I'm grateful for this opportunity to represent Chicago State University and be part of such a special event."

Irvin joins an accomplished group of collegiate coaches and basketball leaders selected as Host Committee Ambassadors, including Carla Berube (Northwestern University), Ashleen Bracey (University of Illinois Chicago), Tethnie Carrillo (Dominican University), Dodie Dunson II (Lewis University), Clarissa Flores (Level Sporting Club), Michelle Gardner-Bilek (University of Chicago), Kira Mowen (Knox College), Morgan Paige (Loyola University Chicago), Jill Pizzotti (DePaul University), Carissa Sain (Illinois Tech), Zaphoria Smith (Wilbur Wright College), Deon Thomas (Roosevelt University) and Oliver Wiseman (Benedictine University). Together, the ambassadors represent collegiate athletics, community organizations and basketball leadership from across the Chicagoland area.

The 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star festivities will feature the league's top players and include fan events, community initiatives and celebrations of women's basketball across the city. Chicago will host the WNBA All-Star Game for the second time in franchise history, bringing thousands of fans, media members and basketball enthusiasts to the city.

Irvin is one of several collegiate head coaches from the Chicago area selected to serve as Host Committee Ambassadors, further highlighting the region's deep commitment to advancing women's basketball at every level.
