Keona McGee Named Influxer NEC Player of the Week & Prime Performer

CHICAGO, Ill. - The NEC has announced the weekly award winner for the week of February 9 where Chicago State guard Keona McGee has been named the Influxer NEC Player of the Week and Prime Performer. McGee led the Cougars to another 2-0 weekend to lead the Cougars to a four game winning streak and has been named Player fo the week for the second time in three weeks and has been named a prime performer for the third straight week.

McGee had yet another career weekend starting on Thursday, February 5 where McGee scored a career high 28 points and also grabbed a career high 13 rebounds to log a double-double in a 75-69 win over Central Connecticut. McGee's 28 points came off of 7/13 shooting and even went 14/17 from the free throw line. McGee had another excellent outing on Saturday, February 7 as she logged 19 points and seven rebounds in the 60-57 win over New Haven. McGee has now been in double digit scoring in 10 straight games to help lift the Cougars to seven wins of their last nine games to improve to 7-5 in the NEC. 

McGee and Cougars will look continue their winning streak against Le Moyne College at home on February 14 at 1:00 p.m. (CT).
