Women's Track & Field Team Closes Out Indoor Regular Season at Windy City Invite

Set for NEC Indoor Championships February 15-16

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Chicago State women's track and field concluded the indoor regular season at Day Two of the Windy City Invite hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The Cougars had a handful of competitors on slate competing against the some of the regions best and other competition from around the country. 

The Cougars were highlighted by Bryanna Boroze who finished with a team high fourth place in the spot put. The freshman launched a 12.30m to secure fourth place. Demya McClure also had a solid day in the throws with a seventh place finish in the weight throw and launched a 15.32m throw. Lena Cleveland had a season best in the triple jump of 11.63m. The sophomore jumper is looking to get more medal hardware after winning finishing runner-up in the long jump last season at the NEC Indoor Championships and will look to make noise in the triple jump competition as well. 

On the track, senior Weronika Stanczak finished sixth in the 1 Mile Run with a 5:14.38. Katherine Thornton finished 16th in the semi-final of the 60 meter hurdles with a 9.35. Latonia Johnson and Azaria Austin represented Chicago State in the 200 meter dash. Johnson finished 24th with a 25.83 second run, while Austin finished 29th with a 27.32.
