Keona McGee Named NEC Co-Player of the Week & Prime Performer

CHICAGO, Ill. - The NEC has announced their weekly women's basketball award winners for the week of January 26. Chicago State's Keona McGee has been named NEC Co-Player of the Week and Prime Performer after logging back-to-back 20 point games last week.

McGee led the Cougars with a then career high of 20 points with 7/11 shooting grabbing three rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 73-64 win over Saint Francis on January 22. McGee then backed up Thursday performance with another career high scoring outing leading Chicago State with 25 points with 10/16 shooting, four assists, three rebounds and two steals in a 77-76 loss to Mercyhurst on January 24. McGee took control leading the Cougars on the floor putting together her best two games of her career. 

McGee and the rest of the Cougar women's basketball team return to action this weekend on the road with two rematches. First on Thursday, January 29 against Saint Francis at 6:00 PM (CT) and on Saturday, January 31 against Mercyhurst at 12:00 PM (CT).
