Box Score MADISON, Wis. — Chicago State men's tennis played its third match of the spring campaign on Friday afternoon, falling 7–0 to a strong Wisconsin squad at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
The Cougars battled through a competitive doubles session, with the No. 1 pairing of
Chad Valdes and
Yurii Hoida taking on the Badgers' top duo.
Justin Atkins and
Reed Gahagan held down the No. 2 court, while CSU rounded out the lineup at No. 3. Wisconsin secured the doubles point to take the early lead.
In singles play, Valdes headlined the lineup at No. 1, facing Patrik Meszaros. Hoida followed at No. 2 against Edouard Aubert, while
Joao Teixeira, Gahagan, and Atkins filled courts three through five. Wisconsin claimed all six singles courts, though the Cougars produced stretches of competitive play and several extended rallies throughout the afternoon.
Chicago State will continue play on Sunday, January 25 as they host Northern Illinois University at H-F Racquet & Fitness Club. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
