HOMEWOOD, Ill. — Chicago State Men's Tennis hosted Louisville on Sunday afternoon at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, with the visiting Cardinals earning a 4–0 decision.
Louisville claimed the doubles point with a 6–1 win on court two and a default on court three. The Cougars' top pairing of
Chad Valdes and
Yurii Hoida was still competing when the point was secured, leaving their match unfinished.
In singles play,
Valdes battled at the No. 1 spot before falling 6–1, 5–1.
Joao Teixeira put together a strong push late in the second set on court three, ultimately dropping a 6–0, 5–3 match.
Reed Gahagan competed at No. 4 in a 6–2, 6–0 result, while Hoida's match at No. 2 went unfinished as Louisville clinched the team victory.
Chicago State moves to
0–2 on the season and continues its early-season stretch next week.
Chicago State will face the University of Wisconsin on the road on January 23, 2026 at 5 p.m.
