OXFORD, Ohio - The Chicago State University women's soccer team traveled outside of Chicago for the first time this season as the Cougar took on the Redhawks of Miami University. The Cougars battled hard and had great looks to score. The Cougars conceeded three goals as the Redhawks took down the Cougars 3-0 in full time of play.
Chicago State were able to log three shots against the Redhawks. One of each from
Tara Savage,
Mari Williams, and
Jewel Foreman. Goalkeeper
Aviana Gutierrez faced 21 total shots and made three saves on the evening.
Veronika Avila logged the most playing time for Chicago State with 80 minutes, while
Alexis Boyer and
Renee Davis both logged 75 minutes each on the night.
Looking ahead: The Cougars will look to off the first five game of the season as they head into the September portion of their schedule. The Cougars return home after Labor Day weekend on Tuesday September 2 as they host the Hampton University Pirates from the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center with kickoff set for 5:00 PM (CT).
