CHICAGO, Ill. (August 24, 2025) – The Chicago State men's soccer showed resilience and growth in their home contest on Sunday at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep, competing with energy and determination in a 4-0 decision against the University of St. Thomas (MN).
The Cougars generated eight shots in the match and pushed forward with confidence in both halves. Junior
Saul Silva (Miami, Florida) provided an attacking spark with two attempts, including a dangerous strike on goal in the second half.
Bill Okumu (Nairobi, Kenya) and
Zephyn Brockert-Kress (Farmington Hills, Michigan) each added quality looks as Chicago State continued to build rhythm in the attack.
Defensively, the Cougars battled throughout the 90 minutes.
Bryant Garcia (Pueblo, Colorado) recorded five saves in goal, denying multiple high-quality chances and setting the tone with an early stop.
Joshua Ceniceros and
Jayden Quezada anchored the back line, each going the full distance in a hard-fought effort.
