Indianapolis - The Chicago State men's tennis team dropped its Horizon League opener, 7-0 to IU Indy on Saturday.
Chad Valdes who was in the lineup for the first time this season, was a bright spot at the top of the order. Playing at No. 1, he took IU Indy's Kozerski to three sets. After dropping the first set 6-2, he battled back to tie the match at 1 set each before falling in the third 10-7.
The Cougars will stay on the road as they take on Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
